We know that these are trying times, but we're here to help:
- We can provide full consultations over the phone and/or by video chat with attorneys.
- We can handle all internal paperwork and payments electronically (i.e. Legal Services Agreements, Drivers License Division Hearing Requests, payments and payment plans).
- We are experts at resolving cases remotely and electronically. Where appropriate and authorized by the court, we can waive client appearances in court for routine hearings, conduct matters by phone with the prosecutor and judge, facilitate Pleas by Affidavit, and reduce requirements to attend in-person court events.
- We conduct telephonic administrative hearings and conference in clients (i.e. Drivers License Division Hearings).
- In unfortunate cases where incarceration is ordered, we are adept at working with the courts and state's attorneys to structure sentencing requirements around the health and welfare concerns of our clients.
Helping Clients Find Success through Preparation
To help prepare for our clients' cases, we have our private investigator interview potential witnesses and record their statements. We then use that information to form cross-examination and direct examination questions. If the witnesses say something different from their initial interview, we use the recordings to impeach them. We take full advantage of preliminary hearings to build a record. In other words, we cross-examine hostile witnesses at prelims so that their testimony is under oath and they cannot change their story later on. In many cases, we have been able to catch witnesses lying under oath at the preliminary hearing so that we can show they are not credible at trial.
Providing a Comprehensive Client Experience
One of the most important aspects of our jobs is interfacing with our clients constantly and making sure there is a consistent line of communication between us. Our clients never have to wonder what is happening with their case, what might be coming around the corner, or when they will hear back from us.
Overall, we believe that our role is to ensure that our clients receive due process, while also ensuring that our clients are equipped to make informed decisions. At each and every stage of a legal matter, we will present our clients with the options they face. We explain the pros and cons of each option and make our recommendations with the understanding that, at the end of the day, these cases impact the lives of our clients, and they get to decide what happens to them. The best legal option may not always align with our clients' goals, and we are prepared to stand by what is right for their needs.
At Collins Rupp, P.C., we are committed to helping our clients through a wide variety of legal matters. Contact us today at 385-777-2753 to get started!
